Manuela Toselli

Manuela Toselli was born in Torino in 1971. She lives and works in the province of Udine, Italy.
In 1990 she obtained her High School Diploma at the State Institute for Art “G.Sello” in Udine with a specialization in Textiles.
In 1995 she obtained a diploma as Jeweler Designer at the Professional Design Institute “Callegari” in Vicenza and started collaborating with a jewelry studio that worked for famous international brands. In the same year her creations were displayed at the “World Gold Council” in Vicenza, Italy, an international fair exclusively dedicated to jewelry.
In 2004, after a short hiatus, she enrolled at the Accademia delle Belle Arti of Venice where she graduated in 2010 with a Master Degree in Painting, chair of Professor Carlo di Raco, obtaining a final mark of 110/110 cum Laude.
In recent years her works have been displayed in many art galleries across Italy and abroad. They are also featured in a multitude of private and public collections. In her research she finds inspiration in everyday life and in everything that catches her attention. The concepts she wants to convey are revised through an abstraction process and a personal interpretation. She uses silk combined sometimes with other materials.
This expressive medium holds a great conceptual value because, in order to be produced, the silkworm is killed before it completes its metamorphosis from chrysalis to butterfly, towards life.
All her work is divided into cycles.
