Alicia Martìn

Alicia Martín (Madrid, 1964) is an artist with an extensive and established career, who has used mediums such as photography, sculpture, installation, drawing and, more recently, video to convey her dialectic. The use of books as protagonists in his works is a metaphor for knowledge and the eternal, but also a symbol of the information overload we live with today. In her work, books merge with each other, regardless of titles or authors, and become an immortalised mass that invades space. They are the raw material from which he elaborates almost all her works, the compositions that he then photographs, the video montages and above all the large-format sculptures in which hundreds of books form large structures. The artist has presented her creations in numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide and has participated in international art fairs. Her works can be found in various private collections and public institutions.
