“Versioni” is a series of photographs in wich Meri Gorni turns words into images, together with a collection of books of poetry.
In this project Gorni asked some poets (Vivian Lamarque, Nicola Gradini, Marco Kravos, Jolanda Insana, Mariangela Gualtieri, Nanni Balestrini, Jaroslaw Mikolajewski) the keyword of their poem wich were previously hand printed and collected in a book by the artist.
Meri Gorni’s works (video, drawings and photographs) have always been deeply connected with words and literature; reading writing and drawing are in fact actions which begin with the eyes, through wich the world enters, so that words and images help the artis tame reality.
“There is a book in all of my images” says the artist “ I have always been enchanted by the book as a form, as a container. You can open, close, read and look at it. It always aroused my imagination, it has always lead me in great flights.”
