6 Pittori alla Morone. Omaggio a Enzo Spadon

Nuova Galleria Morone presents 6 Pittori alla Morone, an exhibition in homage to Galleria Morone and its recently deceased founder, Enzo Spadon. Through the works of Spadon's 'stable' of artists - Enrico Della Torre, Riccardo Guarneri, Gianni Madella, Claudio Olivieri, Mario Raciti, Valentino Vago - the exhibition retraces the fundamental stages in the history of a gallery which, like Galleria Morone, left its mark on Milan in the second half of the 20th century. The works will be exhibited at Nuova Galleria Morone from 13 March 2021. 6 pittori alla Morone (6 painters at Morone Gallery) recalls and encompasses many of the exhibitions that Enzo Spadon held on the group of young artists who frequented his gallery. Nuova Galleria Morone proposes...

Nataly Maier

La forma del colore | Nataly Maier

Nataly Maier's path unfolds in different moments of research always centred around a fundamental investigation, which innervates every work of the author with meaning. This coherent path is evoked by the works presented in this exhibition, built on the dialectic harmony between pieces from different moments. It is visually evident how Maier's reflection has taken place over time as an answer to a profound questioning of the nature and characteristics of artistic representation and consequently also of the process underlying looking. A reflection that has never stopped at the mere theoretical presupposition of artistic practice, but has been embodied in every phase of its practice, always set on the register of passionate investigation and cunning and accurate doing. The first stage...

Gesti di rivolta

Gesti di rivolta. Arte, fotografia e femminismo a Milano 1975/1980

Although feminist groups have been active in Milan (as in the rest of Italy) since the early 1960s, it is only since the middle of the decade that many authors have approached, through their practice, themes related to feminism and the condition of women in contemporary society. The approaches, languages and ways in which they deal with the various issues related to such a socially significant field are different, but all referable to a single subject: women. Even in Milan, many artists, proceeding along a personal trajectory, not necessarily linked to militancy, or acting within feminist or political groups, are committed to reflecting on women's identity and the role of women in modern society. This rich cultural fabric, the research...

Silvia Celeste Calcagno

Bless this house | Silvia Celeste Calcagno

Intense and subtle, feminine and powerful, Silva Celeste Calcagno chronicles our time exposing the human condition subjective to the dichotomies of day-to-day life and the universal themes imbedded within: life, pain, death and rebirth. The artist’s personal show unites works of different media, technical and conceptual approaches. Slowly evolving video and noisy, repetitive moving film scenes, metaphors of change, destruction and rebirth, mix with large-scale installations of arranged groups of one-off photographic images of the artist’s body parts or face, printed and burned into slabs of fired clay. ‘Eye Verbal Motor, hitherto unseen, shows Calcagno’s disfigured face. The penetrating mask-like representations are strangely still and the more intense for that. Transfiguration and estrangement are key themes in Calcagno’s work and...

AA.VV. I luoghi del libro

The title of the collective exhibition AA.VV. of Italian and international artists is an acronym of biographies with diverse authors that contributed to the realization of a book. In this way, throughout the evolution in time of the concept of art book, especially in contemporary art, the process of growth of the concept of “artist’s book” which embraces an open dialogue between the artist and the space is easily identifiable. The gallery environment transforms itself, between objects and real installations, in all the possible diverse solutions. The book represents a set of ideas that take shape and that take on a very important physical appearance. Through the work of some of the masters of historical avant-gardes in dialogue with contemporary...

LOUNGE N.2: Gramáticas del contacto | Pipo Hernández Rivero

The artworks of Pipo Hernandéz Rivero (Gran Canaria, 1966) question every existing cultural certainty. They emphasize the complexity of the possibilities of painting in the 21st century, questioning its boundaries and the perception of the value of art by stressing its traditional notions and proposing a revision of painting starting from formal and conceptual structures which subtend references to the failure of artistic vanguards. In his second personal exhibition at Nuova Galleria Morone, the artist try to restore life to the artworks’ roles. In order to disturb the cognitive order established for the artworks, Pipo Hernández Rivero works with the elements that traditionally compose history of art. Indeed, these are reinterpreted and associated with typical daily objects belonging to the human...

Superfici Eloquenti | Valentina Berardinone | Ivan De Menis | Antonio Scaccabarozzi

Superfici eloquenti is the title of the exhibition curated by Angela Madesani, at Nuova Galleria Morone, with works by Valentina Berardinone (1929), Antonio Scaccabarozzi (1936-2008) and Ivan De Menis (1973).
It’s a focus on a key moment of the artistic research, through the work of artists of different generations and with a completely different research. The analysis relates to that particular area, the surface of the art work, the contour of the object, which is the boundary between the external space and the space occupied by the object itself. An investigation carried out through the three artists displayed, which has to do with time, the time of painting as for the Velature of Scaccabarozzi, but also time as a linguistic investigation, which...

Tempo Numeri Spazi | Eros Bonamini

Nuova Galleria Morone presents Eros Bonamini’s personal exhibition Tempo Numeri Spazi curated by Francesco Tedeschi. Eros Bonamini (Verona 1942-2012) made his first appearance in the contemporary art scene during the mid-seventies, in the field of research related to analytical painting. His first exhibitions took place in Verona at Galleria dello Scudo and Galleria Ferrari, which, for some years, followed closely his work. In a short period of time, Bonamini, from a painting based on the variants of monochrome, began to work with material layers through the adoption of cement as a chromatic material on which he traced signs in the form of writing and measuring of time, experimenting with different solutions of analysis. In “Cronotopografie”, time becomes an operating element of the artist’s...

Io(T)>>(W) – from Internet of Things to Internet of Wonder | Davide Coltro

Nuova Galleria Morone presents Davide Coltro’s personal exhibition Io(T)>>(W) – From Internet of Things to Internet of Wonder, an excursus about the project“ Quadro Elettronico” on which the artist based his theoretical reflection. The impact of technology on art history spurs him to use the "genres of painting" as tools to investigate the mystery of the image until reaching the "painting beyond matter" that animates his works. Gartner Inc. is a big American company of strategic consulting, a multinational of reasoned information, an observatory that helps important people to make important decisions. With the work of his analysts, the artist gave rise to a study that defined the fundamental lines of the global technological tendency called “IoT”, Internet of Things.  The artworks are...

THE SUBJECTIVITY OF RE-DOING | Eltjon Valle

In contemporary art, artists get authentic positions or points of view to face the real world. Without these different perspectives, the world would essentially be a huge collective void, because in some way the artist is indispensable to repropose what does not exist in the world- society that surrounds us. In this context the artist Eltjon Valle presents his personal exhibition "The subjectivity of the remake" at the NUOVA GALLERIA MORONE - MILANO, with a cycle of authentic works in sculpture and mixmedia painting. The artist's works are parallel to the real world, trying to re- establish a non-existent object, in order to infiltrate deeply into the subjective consciousness of matter that we do not know deeply. The artist recreates matter in...
